A different kind of Marrakech stay

The Beach Club and Day Club trend has settled in Marrakech with an energy all its own. It's not Miami's spring break. It's something else, with a Moroccan accent, more or less claimed.

About ten years ago, a few pioneers transformed large villas or former agricultural spaces into ephemeral venues: large pools, DJ sets, never-ending brunches. Since then, the scene has matured, diversified, sometimes polarised.

Over the years, the beach club has become an almost natural stop for many visitors. It's no longer just about extending the evening. It's an assumed pause, between two days in the medina or after a morning in the souks.

An atmosphere that settles naturally

A large pool below, surrounded by wooden sunbeds, all in the shade of palm trees. A DJ sets up in the early afternoon, the first notes blending into the breeze.

Here, no one seeks agitation. The setting is designed to let time stretch. Conversations settle, gazes slide across the horizon, between the pool and the medina rooftops.

As the sun descends, the energy changes. Music rises a notch, lights take over, and the atmosphere shifts — slowly, naturally. It's often in this transition between calm afternoon and day's end that a Marrakech Beach Club finds its identity.

Must do

Settle in, enjoy, don't force anything

In Marrakech, a good Beach Club isn't just about a pool. It's a particular moment, to be lived at your own pace. You settle in, enjoy. No obligation to swim or dance. You can stay lying down, read, observe.

The essential is to force nothing. To let yourself be carried. And sometimes, to find yourself on the dance floor, surprised to want to stay a little longer.

Each Beach Club has its atmosphere, its energy. And at day's end, you leave with a simple impression: that of having paused in the city, without really having left it.
